'My Cinderella" by Munir Mezyed

This evening
All the birds flew away
And disappeared…
Heaven has the color of grief
And exile
Trees have the odor of waiting
Butterflies do not dare to fly
Not to frighten the dormant flower…

The endless emptiness freezes
Surprisingly
The sea becomes silent
Indulged in thinking
Thus your voice comes softly
Like a lonely cloud floating in the azure horizon
Desires to cast all its burdens

It wets me
I tremble
And with all my body’s strength
I hail: I want love
And grieve over a homeland
Where poetry can’t reside in it
Nor can love find a seat …!!

I think to uproot and throw my heart
Tearfully I say
O my beloved, none could see me
If your eyes wouldn’t glimpse at me
My sun has set since the day of my departure …

Night passes by
Fraught with mourning
And the soul moves with slow pace
While the world around me
Is growing older
Decaying
Decaying with me
Nourishing on its own Feces..

Mirage of vast space in the faraway horizon
Wraps in our warm embraces
Lights the night of loneliness
With illusions
Fantasies
Appetites
Thus the odor of blended kisses
With the sugar of lips
And mixture of dim lights and cries
Emanates …

Ah, only you, illusion, accompany the madness of my exile
And always remind me of my beloved
The bitter grief comes from there…

Woe unto you, vile illusion…!
You always enjoy lusciously my sorrows
Drag me there
Trying to draw the face of my beloved...

Let me be here
Enshrouded in poetry
Enjoy the company of My Cinderella,
In the forests …

My Cinderella is the goddess of gypsies
She adores dancing
Naked in the lust of dreams
Makes me savor the taste of the gypsy rites
And the sweetness of the breast
More luscious than the honey of divinity…
And persists in suckling me
Suckling me the milk of poesy
and the nectar of insanity...
